April 12th, 2007 Chris and Jacqueline got to spend an entire week with us! We took a couple of days off work and were able to get a lot of shopping and sightseeing in. Speaking of "sightseeing", check out Nicole's latest tummy progress! How much more will it grow? We'll have another (and final) photo update in 6 more weeks...
Even after living here for 7 years, we'd still never done the cheesy "Hollywood Tourists" thing and checked out the museums along Hollywood Blvd. Luckily we got discounts for being locals. That's all we're going to say about it. Another thing we'd always wanted to do was check out the Getty Villa in Malibu. It's the original home to J. Paul Getty's collection of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan artifacts. It's now open to the public with free admission, (but there's a waiting list.) The villa was pretty amazing, and it was hard to imagine the time and work it must have taken to collect so many antiquities. Some of the statues and urns are over 4000 years old.
On Fiday night we saw "Grindhouse". All we can say is it was incredibly outrageous, and a breath of fresh air. The four of us laughed our asses off and seeing it in a theatre definitely added to the experience. We usually hate theatre-going, but it was really fun. This is one of the most purely-entertaining movies we've ever seen. It was great having Nicole's mom and sister down for so much hang-out time. The next time we see them, there will be a new member of the family squirming around!
