This E3 was particularly good,
because the console war is in it's 3rd year. This meant games were
looking and playing better than ever for the most part.
Jak3 showed very well, and it was great to see people ooing & awing
over it. There were some great criticisms as well. We're going to polish
this one quite a bit by the time we launch in November.
The Sony Party...

Me & Andrew Gilmour

Black Eyed Peas at the Sony Party.

Black Eyed Peas. (1 mb)

Missy Elliot

Missy Elliot again, 4th wardrobe change in 20 minutes.

Her stage presence is speaks for itself in this short clip. (1.6 mb)

Probably the 7th wardrobe change.

How you work it around the stage like this and remember your lyrics
at the same time is beyond me. (5 mb)

Missy Elliot and her entire show were amazing.

The Crystal Method at the Sony Party.

The inevitable rise before the break-it-down part. (3 mb)

Their bass system felt like wind blowing past my pants.

Crowd (and Brian's) participation not a problem with The Crystal Method.
(6 mb)
Special thanks to he members of The Black Eyed Peas, Missy Elliot and
her performance staff, and Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland of The Crystal
Method for the unauthorized use of their photos.

The
main entrance to E3...if you lose the person you came with, it's best
to just forget about finding them.
This
is the heart of Sony headquarters. Three warring factions faced off again
this year: Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft.
One
of the coolest things at E3 was the PSP, or PlayStation Portable. Here's
some more info.
This
movie shows the scale of the PSP a little better...
This
year, it appeared Crash Bandicoot finally had to stoop to flanking himself
with babes in order to get attention from an increasingly disenfranchised
public. Here's an attendee participating in the unofficial E3 sport of
pose-with-babe-pic-colleting.

Crash had some problems though, and needed to make an emergency trip
back stage. Despite the efforts of security people to keep me away, I
got
to see him out of costume, and score this unauthorized pic of
the guy inside. As you can see, he looks nothing like Crash.
Skate-boarding
ambassador to the world, Tony Hawk was nice enough to pose, and talk
about games a little bit. He was there promoting Activision's lineup.
There
are girls everywhere at E3. Not girls who play games, but these girls.
Here's Brian "asking for directions"...
Guys
just walk up and take pictures of them. Sometimes they pose with their
arms around them, sometimes they just shoot and walk away. Weird. There
are whole websites devoted to this sport.
I
decided to try it once to see what it was like. Later, I was horrified
when I saw the picture, and the face this poor girl had to make every
time another geek needed a pic with her.
Here
I am about to get executed for being an imperial smart ass.
Partying with Spencer Lindsay at Balboa's on Sunset.

AAAAHGGG!

The
Nintendo section was dominated by Game Boy Advance games. Nicole's trying
her hand at The Sims.
Resident
Evil 4 was the only impressive Gamecube title I saw, but I probably
missed several others.
We
had about 12 kiosks like this running the game.
Here
I am freaking myself out playing Res Evil 4. This game has a way of
making you physically back up when playing it.
Max
Ancar from Sony Interactive... I used to work with him at Atari a loooong
time ago.
Our
friends, Jeff & Renee came to promote Renee's company, Eyerus
Progoganda Kolektive.
Angie
Pytlewski from Relic Studios -I like running into these types of former
co-workers.
I
don't know anything about race cars, but this car seemed pretty fast.
This
Dwarf remained motionless the entire show as far as I could tell.
Working
for Sony has it's perks, like this free bar. After a few hours of sensory-overload
on the show floor, this guy's your best friend.
Here's
Brian signing autographs for a crowd of horny young female fans. Not
pictured: horny young female fans.
This
is Adam from Australia (center). He's a huge fan of the San Francisco
Rush series, and bestowed us with much flattery.
