Ahh, the condo...

We're still trying to ignore the fact we paid 833,000.00 for a 1,450 square foot slice of West Hollywood high-rise.

One of our few consolations is the view, and knowledge that our trusted team of crack designers from Idea Space Design will transform this mundane 10th floor unit into the sublime paradise of urban perfection we so long for...

After weeks of permits and wading through HOA red tape, we finally broke ground on the 8th of August.

We're doing this in two phases. "Phase 1" is a fancy way of saying we're too cheap to pay for the entire remodel in one go.

Euphemisms notwithstanding, Phase 2 will begin around December 1st and be finished around the 31st of January. Then it will all be over...

The view...

This is what we look at while we exhale slowly and chant, "it was worth the money... it was worth the money..." and repeat many times so that we might be convinced.

Here are the concept boards showing samples of materials and some renderings of the interior plans.

The electrical guys get their recessed lighting on.

The dining room will have the same flooring, as will the kitchen, so it will all be contiguous.

The office post-demo.

Here's the done-badly kitchen. If you want to know how not to remodel a kitchen, study this photo carefully.

(hint: why use $7.00/sq ft. tile on a kitchen counter in a condo that you're hoping to sell for more than 85 bucks?)

Carlo, our favorite electrical man contemplates the routing of 500 feet of Monster speaker cable for our AV setup. (Notice the shit tile on the counter has been purged)

Here's the bedroom... at least it will be.
