Mimi and Dirk flew up from Moss Landing, CA for a 6-day visit!

We had a big barbeque for them, and the cousins all came over.

It was really hot so we turned on the sprinklers for the kids to run around in.

Later, we swam in the lake and then had dinner.

The next day we had another barbeque at Paisley's house.

Then, Mimi and Dirk sailed aboard the Victoria Clipper, all the way from Seattle to Friday Harbor on San Juan. They were met by Suzy and Hawk, and spent the next two days at their house. Kit and Carl came by for dinner while they were there.

Then they came back to our house for some more visiting time, before leaving for home.

It was a great time for everyone. And it was really good for Elliot to spend time with them, since he doesn't get to see them often.

The next weekend we went to Rusty and Haley's (other cousin Haley) house to watch the Blue Angels perform their acrobatics.

Ray's girlfriend and Paisley fiercely debating the types of fighter aircraft, what sort of ordinance they carry, attack range, minute of angle for strafing, etc.. Ladies, please! They're just details, enjoy the show!

Elliot winces as the Blue Angels scream overhead.

Here they come for another pass.

The city of Seattle was terrorized for about an hour by the blue FA-18 jets.

One of the jets rips past the yachts at about 100 feet above the water. Pretty cool...

They go so fast they make their own clouds. I tried to explain to Paisley that's how they create rain. She didn't believe me and just looked at me, "that way"...

They come by for a final pass before suddenly transforming into giant robots and attacking the Space Needle.
