The tar pits are pretty cool, and there's also a museum on the site featuring amazing skeletons of birds and other animals. Because the tar preserves the bones, these are actual skeletal remains, not stone fossils. Here are some pics from the day...

   Later, we took him to FAO Schwartz at the Grove, where he flirted with this "fairy godmother" until she asked to pose with him.
