It's been far too long since the last update. The holidays and rush of projects has made it really hard to get any time for working on robandnicole.com.

To make matters worse, we had a major computer setback, when the 2 terabyte disk that houses all our digital photos and videos crashed. Luckily, I had a mirror drive with everything backed up.

This update covers the period from around Thanksgiving 2010, up until just before Christmas.

A lot happened, and hopefully these pictures tell some of the story...

Lia gets her first ever haircut!

She tentatively inspects the new style in the mirror.

Our friend Ammie Padilla helps us make sushi during her visit.

Sushi takes a while to make, so we're all super happy when it's finally ready to eat! See?

Out at the Christmas tree farm, Elliot points the way to the good trees with his trusty sword.

Watching the classics Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snow Man for the first time with the kids.

On the wall behind me, is the first piece of art I ever sold. 20 bucks, but I was still in high shool...and it seemed like a lot of money in 1990. I think the important thing for me was that someone wanted to buy it. That was one of the first times I felt like I might actually be able to work as an artist.

Each dorm has one of these bathrooms, and this was mine. I used to shuffle my tired bony self into this cold wet place at 7 am each morning, and try to wake up.

The 4th floor classroom where I spent my last 4 years of high school. The view out the windows is incredible.

Nicole navigates the mossy sidewalks with her little princess leading the way.

Getting ready to ride the monorail, Elliot can barely contain his excitement!

Elliot pauses on the trail to look back.

This is the natural unchecked and unaltered 18 months of hair she's had from birth.

Elliot's an old pro, but he still likes to keep an eye on the stylist in the mirror.

David monitors Jacqueline's sauce-stirring technique.

Decide now if you want the cucumber or your jugular!

Lia apparently has found her own trusty sword, and tries to keep up with her brother.

We paid a visit to my boarding school in Oregon, where we donated a couple of computers, and I gave talks to the students about careers in technology.

Our school cafeteria! Wow, so many memories here. We ate all our meals in the room, all year long. Many an awesome bullsh*t story was told at these tables by yours truly.

The infamous boiler room. This is where all the heat for the school is generated, by a combination of wood and gas boilers. I had a few opportunities to feed this guy with a shovel for hours on end.

The long hallway to the cafeteria. I still have dreams about taking too long to eat breakfast, realizing I'm late, and sprinting down this hallway to class!

Elliot and I spent the day by ourselves, exploring Seattle. We rode on a couple of the monorail trains there, much to his delight.

At the top of the Space Needle, Elliot surveys the vast Seattle skyline.

Checking out all the distant train tracks from atop the Space Needle.

We had some snow in early December, so Elliot and I took a run down the trail.
