The next day we drove to Makena Beach on the southwestern shore. This was our favorite beach 'cause of all the green sea turtles and the lack of people. This beach also has amazing snorkeling. We had a "touristy" dinner at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Lahaina. I ordered a basket of shrimp, and tried to eat every one. The thought of a shrimp dying and not being eaten -just thrown away, almost made me cry. So, I ate until I was ready to burst. We drove up the coast to the North shore for the amazing sunset pictured below. After five days of adventuring and resting, we were for our next destination: The Garden Island of Kauai!
