There are several lakes above the town, and we hiked to a couple of them: Lake Arrowhead, and Skelton Lake along the Duck Pass trail.

It's only a couple of miles round trip, but the 10,500 foot alititude made it hard to breathe, so we took it slow and drank lots of water.

Andrew and Kami kept radio contact with us while they checked out some gold mines near the trailhead.

The entire hike lasted about 4 hours, and was incredibly beautiful.

These little streams were full of trout, and they'd dart around as you walked by.
